Compare the total at checkout
Compare the same basket delivered to the same address, using the amount due rather than the largest discount badge.

Hold the basket steady
Choose the exact size, colour, quantity and seller before comparing prices. Two similar-looking listings can include different accessories or pack counts. An apparent saving means little if one option does not contain what you need.
Enter the relevant delivery location where the retailer provides a cost estimate. Shipping availability and charges can differ by address. Compare the amount shown before payment, including any clearly stated unavoidable charges, rather than the price displayed in a search result.
Separate conditions from prices
A coupon may apply only above a threshold or with a particular payment method. Decide whether you already meet those conditions. Adding an unwanted item to qualify can increase the total even when the discount becomes larger.
For a simple hypothetical example, suppose the item you need costs 700 rupees and delivery is 60. Adding a 200-rupee extra to obtain free delivery raises the spend from 760 to 900. The extra may be useful, but free delivery alone has not made the original purchase cheaper.
Check whether a displayed benefit is an immediate reduction, a future voucher or conditional cashback. These are different outcomes. Do not subtract a future benefit from today's payment as though it were money already returned, especially when it has further conditions or an expiry date.
Compare the service attached
A slightly lower total may involve a different delivery date, seller or return process. Consider whether those differences matter for the purchase. A gift arriving after the occasion does not meet the same need as one arriving in time.
Avoid splitting a basket automatically to obtain the lowest item prices. Several delivery charges can outweigh the individual reductions, and separate parcels may be less convenient to receive. On the other hand, one retailer may not offer every item in the correct specification. Compare complete workable options rather than a theoretical collection of headline prices.
Before confirming, read the order summary once more. Check quantity, address, selected variant and any optional additions. Remove services or recurring purchases you did not intend to choose. Keep the confirmation after ordering so the final agreement can be compared with what arrives.
The best comparison ends with a clear amount and a clear set of contents. If either remains uncertain, the checkout page has not yet supplied enough information for a confident decision.
